Uniquely beautiful and one of a kind, the vases are handcrafted from clay slabs, which have been imprinted with beautiful designs, many originating from wooden blocks used to imprint fabric in India. The designs are transferred to molds which can then be applied to the clay.
Select from either the smaller size vase for $42 or the larger for $48. Both of the vases we have available are cream with a jade green glaze, which highlights the textural effect of the imprinted designs.

ARTIST PROFILE
The focus of this work by Magpie Pottery highlights a continuing interest in the textural/surface possibilities of clay, along with forms and imagerythat refer to my interest in the natural world and to my childhood spent in the Southern California ocean. I utilize both slabs and wheel-thrown forms to construct work which I hope is loose, lively, and visually interesting. It has always been important to me to let the clay speak, to allow for it's fluidity, sensuousness and spontaneity. Journeying through the ceramic cycle; from clay's incredible softness, to the fire of the kiln, and returning back again to stone, never ceases to produce a sense of awe and a feeling of immense gratitude that I get to spend my life participating in it.
